Dublin and the North coast

The perfect test for all golfers

From the capital to the mystic North, golfers will be intrigued and excited.

Dublin city is peppered in culture and history as is the mystical North coast of Ireland. Combing both regions ensures an intriguing route that will test and excite golfers of all levels and entertain non-golfers!

From our recommended hotel in Dublin, you will play two rounds either at Portmarnock Golf Club, The Island Golf Club or Royal Dublin Golf Club. All of the courses are located just outside of the city centre and are exquisite examples of what the East coast has to offer the links golfer. If time allows for it the European Club just south in Wicklow is also an amazing addition to your itinerary. As you venture further north, your links game will be tested at County Louth Golf Club, Royal County Down, Portstewart Golf Club and the home of the 2019 Open Championship, Royal Portrush. These courses are pivotal to the heritage, history and the popularity of the sport in Ireland and offers a unique and enjoyable links test throughout.

Dublin, Ireland’s capital city, is steeped in history. Outside of your golf, the city is easy to navigate and has lots to offer. If you want a great pub scene, we will share some of our favourites with you. If you want to experience the city’s rich history, Trinity College, Kilmanham Gaol and Dublin Castle are a must. If you are a ‘Game of Thrones’ fan, why not visit Cushendun Caves, Dark Hedges, Murlough Bay, Ballintoy Harbour, Larrybane, Castle Ward, Inch Abbey and Downhill Strand as you travel North with your private Driver Guide. The region also boasts the Giant’s Causeway, an unmissable stop. We also recommend Bushmills Distillery, which may be the perfect 19th.

To ensure that you get the best tee times, accommodations and touring activities, we carefully design your trip to ensure each and every box is ticked to guarantee you will have the most memorable vacation both on and off the course. We secure your tee-times at these golf courses and you will enjoy seamless travel in private luxury vehicles with your personal golf-focused Driver Guide. Book of Kells at Trinity College

The Book of Kells Exhibition is a must-see on the itinerary of all visitors to Dublin. Located in the heart of Dublin City, a walk through the cobbled stones of Trinity College Dublin will bring visitors back to the 18th century, when the magnificent Old Library building was constructed, and which displays the Book of Kells. The Book of Kells contains the four Gospels in Latin based on the Vulgate text which St Jerome completed in 384AD, intermixed with readings from the earlier Old Latin translation. The book is written on vellum (prepared calfskin) in a bold and expert version of the script known as "insular majuscule".

Kilmainham Gaol, Dublin

Established in 1796, Kilmainham Gaol is a former prison in Dublin where numerous revolutionaries were locked up and executed. The guided tour of Kilmainham Gaol starts off at the prison’s chapel, where Joseph Plunkett married Grace Gifford shortly before being executed for participating in the Easter Rising. Visit the cells, still gloomy and dank and continue to the patio where the prisoners were executed. Kilmainham Gaol continues to be an iconic symbol for most of the Irish population, as a symbol of their rebellion against British domination.

National Gallery of Ireland

The National Gallery of Ireland is in the heart of Georgian Dublin. It houses over 2,500 paintings and approximately 10,000 other works in different media. The Yeats museum is a special favourite, with works by Jack B Yeats, his father John Butler and other members of this artistic family. We can arrange private guided tours as well as a very special after-hours tour of the gallery.
