Golf Ireland’s West Coast

Experience the Wild Atlantic Way

The West of Ireland is as close as one will get to the Ireland of old…

Home to many of the country’s Gaeltacht (Irish speaking) towns and villages, the land here has been untouched and the culture that exists here is as strong as it was many hundreds of years ago. Situated on the Wild Atlantic Way, the picturesque region is home to many great links and parkland courses.

Ideally golf groups would fly in and out of Shannon Airport to get the most out of a seven-day itinerary in the west as it gives you immediate access to the hotspots in the region. A stay in the Limerick area can optimise play at courses such as Ballybunion Golf Club, Tralee Golf Club, Doonbeg Golf Club, Adare Manor Golf Club, and Lahinch Golf Club. For a seven-day itinerary, it is recommended that you play five times and ensure you have a down day in between to capture some of the wild Atlantic scenery with your driver guide!

Within the range of your golfing route you can find many of western Ireland’s wonderful sites! Not too far from Shannon Airport you can find Bunratty Castle, one of the country’s finest medieval castles. The castle hosts medieval banquets and is an experience we would highly recommend. The west coast also is home to both the Kilkee Cliffs and the world-famous Cliffs of Moher. If hiking is your interest, why not set off through the Burren National Park. All of these attractions, plus many more, are all within a short drive and your guide will happily bring you there.

Based on the success of the 2019 Irish Open, the popularity of Lahinch and golf in the west  has soared, with tee-times highly sought after. We can craft an itinerary to ensure that we incorporate all five of these courses through our considerate itinerary design to ensure that this bucket-list trip really is one of your best golfing memories of all time! Our golf-avid Driver Guides, armed with a luxury touring vehicle, will be on hand to provide excellent on-the-ground service and even offer some hints as to what you can expect when you are on the course. We will also make many suggestions as to what else you can enjoy while on tour. We will book dining the best property for your stay, as well as dining and evening entertainment.

The advantage of this itinerary is that you can stay in one hotel and hit every golf course and touring attraction already mentioned. If, however, you need flexibility with flights, travel arrangements, or you would like to extend the tour, we can do that with absolute ease! We endeavour to make this a trip of a lifetime and flexibility is key to achieving just that.

What are you waiting for? Enquire now to secure the best tee-times.

Local Producers

Visit local producers in the area with your Driver Guide. Start with Linnalla Irish Ice Cream creamery - a dairy-lover’s dream. The creamery sits in the middle of a cow field, and Linnalla’s light scoops are flavored with hazelnuts, rose hips, and blackberries foraged in the Burren. We told you the limestone crevices were bountiful..

Muckross House & Gardens

Muckross House and Gardens is the finest Victorian Mansion and Estate in Ireland. Its position overlooking the Lakes of Killarney becomes impossibly romantic when the Rhododendrons are in full bloom. The House documents the history of all the influential families who dominated local life and politics for centuries. The estate can be walked on foot or admired from the many jaunting cars which are about.
